Every crisis invariably originates from a compelling narrative—a firm belief that a new era has dawned or that the fundamental rules of the economy have fundamentally shifted.

 

Whether driven by technological innovation, financial engineering, or a new economic order, the outcome remains consistent: rising asset prices are rationalized, while risks are dismissed as merely temporary.

 

Next is leverage.

As confidence grows, capital becomes increasingly accessible and expands with ease. Investors and institutions begin to believe that risks no longer operate as they once did—or, at the very least, they deceive themselves into thinking that these risks remain within a manageable threshold.

Simultaneously, familiar patterns are emerging: the concentration of capital, momentum-driven investing, and an unwavering reliance on persistent optimism. The system has not yet reached its breaking point, and the trigger has yet to fully manifest.
